On October 1, Devon SAPS attended to a complaint in Dube Street, Devon.
Arriving on the scene, the resident was being attended to by emergency medical services.
The woman (53) accused her boyfriend of assaulting her. They both stay at the same address.
The victim sustained multiple injuries.
When the man was interrogated after he initially said he did not know what happened.
Various blood stains were found at the crime scene, as well as in the back room, on a set of curtains and the bed as well.
Upon further questioning, the man admitted he injured the victim with an axe.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The man will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.

The man faces charges of attempted murder, assault and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
