Being hijacked is not something anybody wishes to experience.
Constable Ignatius Maphike of EMPD shares the following tips that are crucial and may help prevent hijacking:
What to equip your vehicle with:
• Fit a tracking device
• Fit alarm system
• Make sure all doors are locked
• Park at a safe place or lock gates at all times
What to do before going into your place of residence:
• Be vigilant
• Always be on the lookout for suspicious people
• Report any movement or people that you consider suspicious
• Pass your place of residence to look for anything suspicious outside your residence
• Never leave keys outside
