Rand Water’s 59-hour maintenance to affect Ekurhuleni

Water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas.

Rand Water will do maintenance work on the water network from 18:00 on May 26 to 05:00 on May 29, so expect water supply stoppages.

The stoppage, which will last 59 hours, will affect these Ekurhuleni reservoirs:
• Brakpan
• Duduza
• Nigel
• Springs
• Kwa-Thema

“This means all areas supplied by these reservoirs will be without water. The CoE will provide roving water tankers to mitigate the impact, but residents are encouraged to store enough water for basic use during the stoppage,” said city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“Industrial customers, including hospitals, clinics, retirement homes and schools, are encouraged to fill their internal storage tanks and use water sparingly until the system recovers.”

The city has set up two metered filling points in Brakpan and Springs for companies filling up on the water using their own tankers.
The estimated recovery time should be three to five days.
