Fire causes damage to shop in CBD

The fire in the Heidelberg CBD area caused huge damage on February 21.

On February 21, a fire was reported in Voortrekker Street in the CBD.

Smoke was seen coming out of the roof of a building around 19:00.

Alert car guards spotted the smoke and informed the caretaker. Lesedi Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the area.

It was later established that the fire was at Heidelberg Cellular Repair Centre.

Businesses around the affected area were all opened up to ensure that no damage was done to their businesses.

The SAPS, CPFs, AfriForum and patrollers were all on the scene.

The fire was contained quickly.
