Cambridge FC starts pre-season training

The team calls on local players to come and showcase their talent.

Cambridge FC’s SAB league team began preparing for the upcoming season on September 7.

“The club is seeing a lot of new faces who gave it a try in the elite league,” said Cambridge chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

“Players from all around Nigel and Kwatsaduza were streaming in.”

The club looks forward to the upcoming season, with head coach Godfrey Hermanus, at the helm for the second term.

The team hopes to improve their results compared to last season, where they ended in fourth place.

“We hope for better luck this time,” said Maphike. “We look forward to the season and building the young team that will represent us as a club and community.

“We are grateful for the support the community continues to show us.”

The club will use the Mackenzieville Stadium as their home ground for this season, while training will continue at the Jim Fouché Stadium.

“We call on all local players to come and showcase their talent for the opportunity to be selected by the coaches and become part of the team,” Maphike concluded.

“We would also like to ask local companies to sponsor our team.”
