Mayor appoints new spokesperson

"His experience will add value to our ability to communicate effectively to the residents"

City of Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Tania Campbell has appointed Warren Gwilt as her mayoral spokesperson from September 1.

Gwilt is a seasoned communicator with vast experience in government communications and broadcast journalism.
He replaces Phakamile Mbengashe who was recently appointed as the divisional head of communications and media relations for the City of Ekurhuleni.

“I am delighted to welcome Gwilt to my office and team. His experience, qualifications and capabilities will add value to our ability to communicate effectively with the residents of Ekurhuleni. I trust that he will do a splendid job in affirming the multi-party coalition’s back-to-basics programme in the city,” said Campbell.

“I wish to express my gratitude to Phakamile Mbengashe for leading the communication and media relations unit in the mayor’s office since the start of our multi-party coalition’s political term. I also wish to congratulate him on his new appointment and we believe he will continue to serve the Ekurhuleni residents with distinction.”
