Celebrating women in law enforcement

The Duduza SAPS celebrated Women's Month by conducting an all-women's crime prevention campaign.

Members of the Duduza SAPS observed Women’s Month by conducting an all-women’s crime prevention operation on August 26.

In partnership with various stakeholders such as Women Safety promotors, GBV brigades, the CPF and the Youth Desk, the operation was conducted in three phases.

The first phase was a police vehicle control point (VCP) held at the corner of Ndudula Street.

The street has been marred by a series of violent crimes in recent times. During this phase, police members stopped about 150 vehicles and around 400 people.

The second phase was a visit to Esibonelwesihle Secondary School in conjunction with the departments of health and education.

Police members spoke to learners about GBV, bullying, drugs and gangsterism.

The campaign ended with the third phase, which focused on crime awareness in hotspot areas.

Duduza SAPS station commander Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Mofokeng appreciated the efforts of everyone involved.
