Armscor visited Kudung Middle School in Boschfontein on July 19 in celebration of Mandela Day.
Armscor took hands with Sedibeng Chief Education and the staff at Kudung School to beautify the school.
Armscor brought their own maintenance team to do all the work, from painting to repairing floors, new doors and handles and cleaning up the area.
Maintenance work started on July 14 to get everything ship shape before the children returned to school.
Corporate communications officer Zandile Moloi said, “We want to ensure there is a legacy in place for the next generation.”
Moloi said that they want to create an environment that is conducive to better education for the children attending the school.
Vangile Moekatsane, chief education specialist from Sedibeng Education Department, said, “We as Sedibeng Education are so glad that Armscor reached out to help Kudung Middle School. There is already such a big improvement since the last time that we were here and the new improvements will be a benefit to all involved.”
The principal of the school, Moipone Thokoane, said: “We are so excited about the new developments. We see it as a new beginning for the school and community at large.”
