Peace Brothers FC celebrate victory
The Peace Brothers team will go on to play in the Castle League playoffs.
On June 26, Peace Brothers FC played against Nigel FC for their final match of the Boksburg League.
About 10 minutes into the first half, Peace Brothers striker Lelo Twala scored the opening goal of the match and put his team on the scoreboard.
Peace Brothers’ second goal of the match was scored at the 35-minute mark when players Bisa Mkwanazi and Themba Mahlangu worked together.
Mahlangu headed the ball into the net.
Peace Brothers went into halftime leading the game 2-0.
Shortly after the start of the second half, Peace Brothers FC managed their third goal.
Nigel FC scored two goals just before the end of the match, ending the game with a final score of 3-2 in favour of Peace Brothers FC.
The man of the match was Noko Mahladisa.
“The game showed great sportsmanship between our two teams,” said Peace Brothers manager Seja Mahladisa.
“Before the game started we arranged a guard of honour for the teams.
“Even though this was our last league match, the Peace Brothers team will still play in the Castle League playoffs later.”
