Ability Academy welcomes new instructor
Well-known instructor joins Ability Academy.
Ability Academy Heidelberg with instructor and owner Stefan Pretorius are doing very well on the martial arts scene.
Pretorius is a proud coach with the successes that his students are accomplishing.
A new coach Jurgen Putter has joined Ability Academy. Putter is a top-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, a professional Jui-Jitsu fighter, and he is now an instructor of the arts.
He has already achieved his second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Roberto Atalla.
Atalla hails from Rio de Janeiro and is the founder of Rio Grappling Club.
Rio Grappling is an international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu franchise with over 100 clubs around the world and 18 in South Africa, one of which is Ability Academy.
Putter started his Jiu-Jitsu career in 2001 and is one of three main Rio Grappling instructors in South Africa.
He has also competed in international tournaments throughout his career where he won King of the Mat in 2004 when he stayed in Ireland.
Under Putter’s watch he also produced numerous South African Champions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.
When Jiu-Jitsu was relatively new in South Africa, Putter was one of the first black belts in South Africa in 2012.
Putter has his own Rio Grappling Club in Springs and also coaches in two Rio Grappling Clubs in Pretoria.
Putter is now part of Ability Academy Heidelberg where he is going to impart some of his wisdom and knowledge onto the Ability Academy students.
Putter’s first class already started on February 9.
Ability Academy is the only Jiu-Jitsu school in the Sedibeng area with this high level of instructors in their midst – Putter with his second black belt and Pretorius the owner/ instructor with a brown belt.
Ability Academy is a martial arts gym specialising in MMA, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing fitness and bully guarding programmes.
Ability Academy is also affiliated under MMASA (Mixed Martial Arts South Africa) and SAKA (South African Kickboxing Association).
