Duduza SAPS engage with community

Police members braced the early morning cold to engage with the community.

Members of the Duduza SAPS held a crime awareness campaign early in the morning of June 1.

The members used a different approach to the campaign, titled Morning Blitz, by engaging with early commuters at 06:00 at the Ext 15 Taxi Rank.

The aim of the campaign is to request the community to reject and report stolen goods.

“Around 300 people were reached through our pamphlet communication,” said Sergeant Harry Manaka from Duduza SAPS corporate communications.

Sergeant Nozuko Mnisi is engaging with the community during the morning blitz campaign.

“We sensitised the community on the dangers of buying, or assisting in keeping or disposing of stolen goods.”
Information about hijackings, robbery prevention, substance abuse and gender-based violence were also covered during the blitz.

The campaign will continue in the coming weeks in other parts of Duduza.
