Awareness campaign held
The campaign was held to raise awareness on various issues in the community.
Members of the Nigel SAPS and various stakeholders held an awareness campaign on May 27.
The campaign was focusing on drug and substance abuse along with gender-based violence (GBV).
Its purpose was to enlighten and inform the community about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Those who suffer from substance abuse were also encouraged to seek help and be rehabilitated.
In addition, the campaign aimed to help raise awareness about GBV that happens within the community.
The stakeholders that participated in the campaign included Sanca Alrapark, Nigel SAPS Social Crime Prevention, sector managers, Department of Community Safety and the Victim Empowerment Centre.
