Miss Alra Park 2022 crowned

The first Miss Alra Park event was held on May 7.

The first Miss Alra Park beauty pageant was held at the Alra Park Community Hall on May 7.

“It takes a united and committed team to organise a successful event,” said one of the event’s organisers, Sizwe Masondo.

Masondo says that he and the other organisers, Wezi Selinder and Bridgette Mabanga, saw the need for such an event.

“We had no experience or knowledge about beauty pageants, but we knew we wanted all the participants to have an equal opportunity to explore their talent and potential.”

He said the objective in crowning the first Miss Alra Park was to have someone who has a strong relationship with the community and youth.

Fourteen participants entered the competition and the top three were:

• Nhlanhla Mofokeng, Miss Alra Park 2022

• Bronwyn Lobs, first princess

• Nobuhle Mahlangu, second princess

“We as the organisers would like to thank everyone who came out to support the event,” Masondo said.

“We would also like to give our sincere gratitude to the parents who supported their children. Lastly but not least, we would like to thank our entertainers and our guest speaker, Nigel Bonocash, for honouring the call.”

The organisers also made a promise to return to crown the next Miss Alra Park next year.
