Heavyweight Mania will take place at Emperors Palace on Saturday, presented by Golden Gloves Promotions. The bouts will commence at 19:00.
Lerena will box for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental Heavyweight title.
The supporting bouts will see Juan Roux, another heavyweight sensation, taking on the more experienced Joshua Pretorius in a 12 round contest.
The vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) belt will be on the line in Roux’s defence of his national title against Pretorius. The winner will become only the second South African after Visser to hold the ABU heavyweight title.
The ABU is an affiliate of the WBC and their title has often been a stepping stone into the WBC world ratings.
In the junior middleweight bout over 12 rounds, Jamie Webb will go toe-to-toe against the South African champion Shervantaigh Koopman for the SA title. Koopman has nine fights to his credit with no losses. Webb’s record reads 6/1/0.
