Cambridge flatten Golden Boys

The Cambridge team played against and beat Golden Boys FC.

Cambridge FC played against the Golden Boys FC team from Vosloorus on March 12 at the Jim Fouché Stadium in town.

The first half of the match started slowly, but the home team showed their dominance in the match by creating various opportunities to score.

Fifteen minutes into the first half, Cambridge striker Moeketsie “Chuku” Monahang scored the first goal of the match.

“That first goal seemed to open the gate for more goals,” said Cambridge coach and chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

“The team bagged three more goals in the first half, leaving the score 4-1 at half-time.”

The second half also showed Cambridge’s skill on the pitch, with Monahang scoring three more goals.

After some changes were made to give some of the younger players a chance, Oupa Mbokazi also scored a goal.
The match ended 8-1 for Cambridge.

“I am very happy with the performance of the team,” said head coach Godfrey Hermanus.

“The other players could get a run, like Nhlanhla Mlamba, who is the longest-serving member of the club and managed to get a goal.”
