On March 8, Heidelberg SAPS crime-prevention members Sgt Vusumuzi Zondo and Const Jean-Pierre Lewis recovered a vehicle that was stolen from the SPAR Shopping Centre in Voortrekker Street, Heidelberg.
The officers started tracking the vehicle, a 1989 Nissan Hardbody, which had an installed tracker.
The signal update indicated the vehicle was in Nigel Road. Thereafter, the signal disappeared.
The SAPS members decided to look in the Duduza and Tsakani areas but found the vehicle in a complex in the Dunnottar area.
The vehicle was recovered and taken to Benoni Vehicle Investigation Services.
Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact their nearest police station or Crime Stop on 080 001 0111.
