Ekurhuleni asks residents to report sewage spillages

Ekurhuleni warns the longer rainy season might lead to more sewage spillages.

The City of Ekurhuleni urges residents to report sewage spillages to assist the City to improve their response.

This follows a prediction by the South African Weather Service of a long rainy season, which increases the likelihood of sporadic sewage spillages because of stormwater entering the sewer line.

“Reporting service interruptions such as sewage spillage improve the response by the City,” said Zweli Dlamini, spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni.

“It also assists us as the City to maintain the dignity for our people.”

To report service interruptions, including sewage spillages, please contact the municipality.
