Man slapped with life sentence for murder

The district commissioner was delighted by the sentence that was handed down.

Mxolisi Msimango (29) was recently sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his neighbour.

It was alleged that Msimango and his girlfriend had a misunderstanding when he called his neighbour to help them reunite in June 2020.

When the neighbour (51) arrived in his yard, Msimango stabbed her with a knife.

He then wrapped the knife in newspapers and hid it in the back of the yard before running away.

The deceased’s husband took her to Tambo Memorial Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

The docket was allocated to Det Const Pelokgolo Godfrey Makola, who investigated the case.

Msimango handed himself over to the police.

Makola was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the district commissioner, Maj-Gen Anna Sithole, for leaving no stone unturned and ensuring the victim’s family finds closure.
