Six pig carcasses have been discarded on the side of the road between Kaydale and the Heidelberg turn-off.
A concerned resident, who wished to remain anonymous, notified the HERAUT on February 27.
The concerned resident, who has been staying in Kaydale for 27 years, stated this is the second time in two weeks that someone had discarded the carcasses along the side of the road close to each other.
Travellers use the road from Kaydale to either Nigel, Springs or Heidelberg daily, and walking or driving past the scene is unhygienic and unhealthy.
“Surely, something needs to be done to ensure this does not happen again. Whoever has discarded the dead animals and carcasses needs to be brought to book,” the resident said.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the local authorities as soon as possible.
HERAUT is awaiting comment from the health department.
