Water supply restored
Rand Water confirmed that the water supply was restored this afternoon.
HEIDELBERG – Rand Water confirmed that it’s Mapleton Booster Station has resumed pumping water at full capacity from 17:45 this afternoon (February 9) after the City of Ekurhuleni restored the power supply.
Rand Water further stated that the recovery of the system will take some time, and that some customers on high lying areas might not get water immediately as the system has been badly depleted.
Rand Water further urged consumers to continue using water sparingly and apologised for the inconvenience. Communities are advised to use water sparingly.
The Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM), whose reservoirs were below 10% today, noted that it will take time to fill up the reservoirs while still providing water to the community, before the system can be stabilised.
