Water supply interruption in Heidelberg and surrounding areas
Lesedi Local Municipality warns of water supply interruption.
HEIDELBERG – Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) advised today (February 7) that residents and businesses in Jameson Park, Heidelberg, and the surrounding areas are experiencing low water pressure or no water at all.
According to LLM, the reason behind the water supply interruptions emanates from the reduced supply water volumes and pressure from Rand Water’s supply side. The reduced feed depleted the storage capacity within the Heidelberg Command Reservoirs.
LLM stated technical teams from the municipality and Rand Water are working around the clock to restore the water supply.
LLM urged residents to not panic under the circumstances, as there are improvements in the supply from Rand Water. However, an allocation has to be made for the municipality’s reservoirs to pick up their respective levels.
Residents are requested to only store minimum water volumes for basic household use.
