DA initiates urgent service delivery meeting

Urgent meeting initiated to address concerns in Lesedi.

On January 18, the DA in Lesedi had an informative meeting with Mayor of Lesesi local Municipality Mluleki Nkosi, as well as about 20 businessmen from Heidelberg, residents of Shalimar Ridge and Boschfontein.

The main topic of the meeting was the constant power interruptions, potholes, street light issues, fibre trenches on pavements and other environmental issues that were discussed and brought to the mayor’s attention.

Nkosi promised in his re-election speech that these issues would get his full attention and that he would ensure a plan is drawn up and executed.

DA council members Gerry Holtzhausen, Mirna Mulder and Sieg Paul commented on the importance issues being dealt with.

“Any further information that comes to light, solutions and suggestions will be made available to the public,” said Holtzhausen.

“The municipality is responsible to ensure maintenance is up to date and service delivery is taken seriously to get Heidelberg on par with other municipalities and fully functional again.”

Suggestions to improve the electricity issue will be discussed at their next council meeting on January 31.
