Cambridge FC hosted Experience FC from Kwa-Thema at the Jim Fouché Stadium in town on January 22.

Spectators were treated to a spectacular match with both teams providing a strong starting 11.

“It was clear from the start that both teams played a very tactical game,” said Cambridge coach Ignatius Maphike.
“Both teams aimed to protect their goal zones.”

The Experience team held possession of the ball during the opening 10 minutes of the game, creating multiple chances to score, but failed to convert these chances to goals.

“Our home team struggled to find their rhythm,” Maphike continued. “It took the team about 20 minutes to really start playing the game.”

The first half of the match ended with a score of 0-0.

“In the second half of the match, the Cambridge team fought back, resulting in its dominant possession of the ball,” Maphike said.

Cambridge player Sechaba Masangane put the first goal of the match away with a well-organised team goal.
The match ended with a final score of 1-0 for the home team.

“I am very happy with the three points we gained from this match,” said Cambridge head coach Godfrey Hermanus after the match.

“Our man of the match was Fanky Thomas Kodisang, who played extremely well in his midfield position.
“But it was due to the team’s effort that we managed this win.

“Thank you to the community who supported us and to our investors who continue to back us,” concluded Maphike.
