Agrizzi matter postponed to 2022

The Palm Ridge Specialised Crimes Court deferred former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi’s fraud case to March 2, 2022.

The postponement is for a medical enquiry on the fitness of Agrizzi to stand trial.

On November 2, the former COO brought an application for his bail conditions to be relaxed; however, the arguments were filed and not argued in court. The State also submitted the opposing arguments.

Agrizzi’s bail conditions remain unchanged, baring the modification of his reporting police station to Douglasdale Police Station from December 10, 2021.

The court has issued a warrant for his arrest, stayed until the next appearance.

Agrizzi stands accused of offering gratification on behalf of Bosasa to former Parliamentarian Vincent Smith in exchange for his influence, as the then chairperson of Parliament’s oversight committee on correctional services.

Bosasa scored contracts totalling just over R1-billion from Correctional Services between 2004 and 2007.
