On November 22, the Ekurhuleni council voted in Raymond Dhlamini from the DA as the new speaker of council.
A resident of the City of Ekurhuleni since birth, Dhlamini believes in using his position to influence positive social change by improving the livelihoods of the people in the City of Ekurhuleni.
His involvement in politics and youth development display a deep passion for working with people but more importantly, it reflects a deeper commitment to inspire a culture of serving diligently and transparently.
His upbringing is the back story and motivation behind his belief in empowering residents by creating a safer, upwardly mobile developmental city with a specific focus on poverty alleviation.
He takes the responsibility bestowed upon him by council with utmost earnestness – not only has he committed to serving the people of Ekurhuleni with dignity by oath, but also reinforced this ethos in his acceptance speech.
Fully aware of the magnitude of work that lies ahead, he is optimistic, resolute and feels equal to the task.
During his tenure, he wishes to see a progressive council that passes impactful resolutions which will ultimately uplift poor communities, ensure consistent service delivery and achieve good governance.
