Stakeholders visit schools as part of an outreach programme

Local stakeholders are paying visits to Heidelberg schools as part of their outreach programme.

The purpose of the outreach programme is to enhance relationships between children and stakeholders from various departments, including health, municipal, SAPS, fire, library and disaster management.

The reason is to educate the children in schools about the different roles of the stakeholders and how they assist in shaping the youth’s future by giving them a better understanding of the roles the stakeholders play in the community at large.

The learners, ranging from Grades One to Five from Silveroaks Montessori and Laerskool AG Visser, were educated about road safety, maintaining good behaviour, respect, health, library and criminal activities. The children’s response was positive and participation was impressive.

Schools that would like to be part of the outreach programme may contact the Heidelberg SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit on 082 348 293.

The police thanked all the schools that allowed them to share information with their learners throughout the year and are grateful for the opportunity.
