Five nabbed for possession of drugs

Members of Duduza SAPS arrested five men for possession of drugs.

Members of Duduza SAPS made a breakthrough in the fight against drugs on November 22.

This follows the arrest of five men from different areas in Duduza. Members of the Crime Prevention Unit apprehended the men.

The members have been gathering information about the syndicate for a long time.

Among the drugs that were seized were more than 50 Mandax tablets and more than 100 units of nyoape with an estimated street value of R6 000.

Mandax tablets and nyaope were among the drugs confiscated. Cash believed to have been obtained from the drug sales was also seized.

Cash believed to be derived from the sale of the drugs was also seized.

Speaking after the arrest, Duduza SAPS acting station commander Capt Petrus Mabuza commended the work done by the members and expressed his relief that more drugs and their dealers are being taken off the streets of Duduza.

“The arrest also indicates that the SAPS is committed to doing its part in the partnership against drug supply, distribution and potential use,” said Mabuza.

The five men are expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.
