Spate of house robberies reported

Residents are urged to be vigilant following three house robberies recently.

On November 10 at about 01:00, armed robbers broke into a house in Heidelberg Kloof.

The female occupant was overpowered and tied up. The criminals got away with laptops and jewellery.

They gained entrance to the property by cutting the fence at the estate. A case has been opened at the SAPS.

On November 16 at approximately 02:40, there was a break-in at a residence along Vlok Street in Rensburg.

The victims, a man, his wife and son, were awakened by the robbers who were brandishing firearms.

The three male intruders, who were wearing balaclavas, entered the premises through a sliding door.

The occupants were tied up and taken into a spare room. A TV, cellphones, jewellery and groceries to the value of R15 000 were taken.

The robbers left the premises the same way they entered, through the glass sliding door.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. A case was opened at the SAPS.

Another robbery took place the same day at around 02:00 in Boekenhout Street, Overkruin.

Cellphones and laptops were taken. It is unclear how many perpetrators were involved in this incident.

Community members are urged to be on the lookout for any suspicious activities and to report such to their local police station or security company.
