Strydom Street blue plaque unveiled

Tony Burisch of the Heidelberg Heritage Association handed over the blue plaque to the current owners Gert and Christin Burger.

Dr HL Hale’s initial premises, located at 103 Strydom Street in Heidelberg, had the honour of being included in the golden heritage of Heidelberg.

Dr HL Hale is buried in the Nigel Cemetery.

Gert and Christin are the fourth owners of the property.

Hale was the original homeowner. He was employed as a dental surgeon in Heidelberg from 1902 to 1946.

The Hale family resided there for over 50 years.

Hale died on December 7, 1946, and is buried in the Nigel Cemetery.

The blue plaque is now proudly displayed at the former home of dental surgeon Dr HL Hale.
