HEIDELBERG – According to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), the results for the Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) are in.
The African National Congress (ANC) continues to account for the majority of the votes with 24 315 votes and a resultant 50.43% of all votes. However, the party only has 13 seats as opposed to its previous 16 seats.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) received 9 798 votes with 20.32% support in the municipality. The party has five seats.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) received 6 524 votes with 13.53% support in the municipality and has four seats.
The Freedom Front Plus (FF+) received 4 356 votes within the municipality, which accounts for 9.04% support and a resultant three seats. New party Socialist Economic Freedom Movement (SEFM) won a single seat with 1 084 votes.
