SAPS members from the Sedibeng District and other stakeholders took part in a visible policing operation.
The high-density operation was conducted by station commander Col Phiwe Ndwandwe.
Police members visited liquor outlets, conducted highway and curfew patrols and stopped and searched vehicles.
Illegal outlets were closed and alcohol was confiscated.
Some curfew arrests were made under Covid-19 regulations along with a few arrests for drunk driving.
The operation lasted from 20:00 on September 25 to 06:00 on September 26 with no other crimes reported during this time.
Heidelberg SAPS intend to conduct more operations of this nature.
