September 24:
The Heidelberg Great Train Race. Planes, trains and vintage cars show. Heidelberg will be invaded by veteran cars and aircrafts. The well-known luxury train operator, Rovos Rail, will bring two steam locomotives with 16 luxury carriages full of visitors to the event. September 24:
OMS Entertainment and the Almac Development Centre will host the first annual Alrapark Colour Run on Heritage Day. Community members in and around Nigel, Alrapark and Mackenzieville can participate in the 5km run or the 3km walk. The event will start at 08:30 and tickets cost R40 for adults and R25 for children. Participants can buy an additional colour sachet for R10. Entertainment including music and a jumping castle will be available on the day and prizes can be won. September 24 and 25:
The first annual Hallgate Living Farmers Market and Spring Fair will be held. The community is invited to join the festivities from 08:00 to 19:00 on September 24 and from 08:00 to 16:00 on September 25. The event will be held at Plot 126 at the Hallgate Plots located on the R550, Devon Road in Nigel. There will also be live music and a children’s entertainment area. Tickets are available online or at the Cosmos Food Centre in Vosterskoon.
