City manager honours women in uniform
City manager Dr Imogen Mashazi is expected to honour female metro police officers and emergency personnel through her Women in Uniform Legacy Project.
The City manager, Dr Imogen Mashazi, is expected to honour female metro police officers and emergency personnel in an only female roadblock in Tsakani on August 12.
This operation forms part of Mashazi’s Women in Uniform Legacy Project, which was launched in 2017 for women who have gone beyond the call of duty to serve the people of the region.
The project, according to City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, was launched to empower women officers, firefighters and disaster management officers through career progression and education.
“To date, more than 700 females have benefited from the project through promotion, recruitment and furthering their studies. Another highlight of the operation will be the availability of a mobile clinic for random Covid-19 tests and to share critical information about the deadly virus,” he said.
