Water supply interruption for Heidelberg

Lesedi Local Municipality advised about water supply interruption.

Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) advised that the planned water supply interruption from Rand Water will take place from July 2 to July 3.

The interruption is due to tie-in operations conducted by Rand Water at the M10, M7 and Heidelberg station into existing pipelines to commission the 14km section of the newly installed M2 pipeline.

There will be no water supply to the Lesedi Municipality, Heidelberg and the surrounding areas. The water supply will be interrupted from July 2 at 05:00 to July 3 at 07:00.

The shutdown duration is expected to last 26 hours. If there are any delays from Rand Water the affected communities will be made aware.

After the Rand Water operation is completed, LLM would need at least 24 hours additional time to fill the reservoir and restore the water supply to the affected areas.

Communities are requested to make provision for water in their households for three days.

All queries can be directed to the LLM’s customer care line on 016 330 0400.
