The following stations were included in the arrests: Duduza, Dunnottar, Devon, Kwa-Thema, Nigel, Tsakani, and Springs.
The arrests were achieved as a result of hard work by members at stations through various police operations, such as crime prevention, sector policing, detectives tracing, and collaboration between law enforcement agencies such as the EMPD and other SAPS departments.
Some of the arrests were attained during the High-Density Operation conducted in Tsakani in which police painted the town blue through coordinated operations on drugs, liquor, VCPs, and saturation patrols to maintain order.
The arrested people will be facing charges including rape, armed robbery, assaults, house break-in and theft, possession of drugs, possession of the suspected stolen property, drunk driving, possession, and dealing in drugs.
All arrested suspects are expected to appear before different magistrate’s courts during the course of the week.
