Rand Water is currently busy with a shutdown on the M8 pipeline to install a 1000mm diameter pipeline in the form of tie-ins connection to the existing M8 pipeline.
This has affected the bulk water supply to Lesedi Municipality. The outage was planned for May 18th from 10pm to the May 19th at 10am (24hrs) and no interruptions were foreseen to the consumers if the shutdown was to be completed in this time.
The shutdown is currently running late and estimated to be completed today May 20th at 16:30pm and Reservoir will be filled thereafter water distribution is expected to commence on Friday May 21st.
The Municipality recognize the inconvenience this may have caused as the matter is beyond Municipal control. If there are changes from the information received from Rand Water, it will be communicated to the public.
