A 35-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting along Voortrekker Street at Jet Clothing Stores after he was found in possession of clothes valued at R4 000 for which he had not paid.
The incident took place at 12.55pm on Sunday after the manager of the store noticed the man walking out of the shop after having not gone through the till for payment.
The man was called and proceeded to drop a bag in his possession before returning to the shop.
Upon verification of what was inside the bag, 16 pairs of jeans were found valued at R4 000.
Police were called and arrested the man immediately.
He will appear in Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court soon.
