PEP Home in Hendrik Verwoerd Street was recently robbed by a gang of men posing as customers.
It is reported six men entered the shop around midday. One of them took two cold drinks to the till.
While the cashier attended to the man, the other five approached the tills.
At this point, the tellers noticed the men were armed.
A customer at one of the tills had R8 000 taken by the man who approached the tills first. The remaining five demanded to be taken to the shop’s safe.
They proceeded to take the available cellphones before running out of the shop and fleeing the scene in three separate cars.
The cars were two white Toyota Etios sedans and a white Honda.
No shots were fired during the incident.
