In a national movement, South Africans gathered across the country on October 25 to protest against farm attacks and the brutal killing of farmers.

Residents of Heidelberg, Vaal Marina and Ratanda also supported the movement and gathered along Meyer Street in Rensburg, where an estimated number of 500 people with motorbikes, bakkies, SUVs and tractors arrived in droves, carrying passengers who all shouted a shared message – end farm murders.

“Our aim is to display our dissatisfaction on farm attacks and murders. We are hoping for a harsher sentence for perpetrators and pleading to government to allocate more resources to protect the farming community,” a participating resident said.

The convoy of residents prayed for protection over South Africa and their farmers and they dispersed peacefully after they joined in a peaceful protest on October 25 against farm attacks.

The protesters moved through the streets of Rensburg and Heidelberg and returned via Voortrekker Street to the starting point. Afterwards, the convoy of residents prayed for protection over South Africa and their farmers and they dispersed peacefully.
