Lerato Maloka (Lesedi Local Municipality mayor), Pretty Kekana from Vopak SA, members from the SANDF and staff from neighbouring hospitals were some of the special guests who joined in the celebrations.
Heritage was not the only subject of the day, as the Heidelberg Hospital management officially launched its Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
“EVP talks to us as employees and does not talk like a boss. It maintains wellness in the work place. It is also very important that as public servants we honour, recognise and appreciate different cultures and diversity,” Lebo Khumalo (acting CEO Heidelberg Hospital) said.
She commended frontline workers for not being reluctant to continue their work during the Covid-19 storm, even though they also had lost loved ones during the pandemic.
After the speeches, fun and celebrations continued as staff members demonstrated their different cultures.
The day ended with a prize-giving where the members of Ward 2 was nominated as best-dressed department and the finance team was crowned as being the department that participated best.
