As schools reopened for the new academic year, SAPS Duduza partnered with Youth Desk in a school-safety campaign.

This forms part of the ‘Adopt a Cop’ awareness campaign whereby schools are allocated with a dedicated SAPS member as their adopted police officer.

A total of five schools were visited on January 15 where police members warned learners not to participate in criminal activities.

Lt Col Bheki Mhlungu (Duduza SAPS: station commander) visited NN Ndebele Secondary School where he condemned all forms of substance abuse and gender-based violence.

Sgt Harry Manaka (Duduza SAPS: spokesperson) paid a visit to Esibonelwesihle  Secondary School and encouraged learners to be ambassadors of safety and start studying for exams immediately.

Other schools visited include Thandi Sibeko Secondary, Mmuso Primary and Roseview Primary schools. The campaign will continue to all other schools in Duduza. For any queries contact SAPS Duduza on 011 730 4700.
