Dipaleseng Local Municipality looks after vulnerable learners

250 Learners from Balfour benefited.

Christmas arrived early for learners of two primary schools in Siyathemba when they received school shoes from Dipaleseng Local Municipality.
Mafunda Makhubu (executive mayor) handed out shoes for 250 learners of Bonukukhanya- and Siyathemba Primary School on November 28. This forms part of the school shoes donation drive that the mayor has initiated in partnership with one of the municipality’s service providers MaxProf more than a year ago.
“The aim is to ensure that children that come from vulnerable backgrounds are cared for,” Phindile Sidu (spokesperson: Dipaleseng Local Municipality) said.
Two more schools (Qalabocha- and Vusumuzi Primary School) received their donations in 2018 as part of the first round of the program.
Mr Makhubu committed himself and members of his mayoral committee to adopting five learners in need who will receive full school uniform in time for the commencement of the 2020 academic year.
