Ratanda police recover stolen vehicles

Ratanda police successfully recovered two stolen vehicles after experiencing plenty incidents since the beginning of November.

On November 19 at around 02:35, the Ratanda Crime Prevention Unit spotted a white Mazda 323 with five suspect-looking occupants. they pulled the vehicle over and while searching, found tools (typically used in house break-ins) and the engine was tampered with.

The five African males were arrested for possession of house break-in equipment. Later that day at around 09:40, police received information that led to the arrest of one African male. They found a silver Volkswagen Jetta (with a Lesotho registration number) parked next to the road. The front numberplate was removed and police traced a stolen vehicle case number from Deneysville SAPS.

The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Lieutenant Colonel Mokgora Selota (station commander: Ratanda SAPS) applauded the efforts made by members of his station and that of the community in the fight against crime.
