SAPS Nigel crime report: 28 October to 3 November

NIGEL - The following crime incidents were reported to SAPS Nigel from 28 October to 3 November

* Theft of magwheels and tyres
SAPS Nigel is warning residents of an increase in reported cases of theft from motor vehicles, especially theft of magwheels and tyres. This follows two incidents that occurred on October 28. The first incident occurred at a house in Bradford Street and the other in Heidelberg Road.
* Bicycles stolen
Police are investigating a burglary which occurred at a house in West Riding on October 28 where three bicyles were reported stolen.
* Burglary
A burglary occurred at a house in Palmerston Drive, Jameson Park on October 28 where a television was reported stolen.
* Motor vehicle parts stolen
Two cases of theft from a motor vehicle were reported on October 29, after the mags and tyres were stolen off vehicles in separate instances. The first incident occurred at a factory in Vorsterskroon and the second at a residential address.
* Metal droppers stolen
A suspect was arrested after he was caught stealing metal droppers in Chamberlain Street on November 1. The suspect was expected to appear in Nigel Magistrate’s Court on November 4.
* Attempted house robbery
A suspect was wounded in an attempted house robbery which occurred at a smallholding in Kaydale on October 31. The victim heard his dogs barking. He noticed a group of men wearing balaclavas jumping over his wall. He ran to his safe to retrieve his weapon and as he reached the front of the house, two suspects were already in the kitchen. He fired a shot into the wall, which did not deter the robbers. The victim reportedly fired a second shot, wounding one suspect in the neck and sending all of them fleeing on foot. No arrests have been made.
* Television stolen
A television was reported stolen, following a burglary which occurred at a house in Von Geusau Street on November 2.
