Police station “invaded” by students

They came up with the idea to help clean offices and even the cells at Heidelberg Police Station.

Last week Wednesday (July 24) was a good day for staff of Heidelberg Police Station when they were ‘invaded’ by students from Sedibeng College who went on a cleaning spree as part of a community service project.

The first year Office Administration students had the task to identify a community project as part of a Life Orientation assignment. They came up with the idea to help clean offices and even the cells at Heidelberg Police Station.

Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate, Communications Officer and Social Crime Prevention Co-ordinator’s help was enrolled and on Wednesday 15 students came armed with brooms, dusters and other cleaning appliances for the big task ahead.

The officers and other staff members appreciated this friendly gesture and told the students that it is a wonderful idea. They pledged to assist the students in any which way they can to help them pass their academic year.

15 Students of Sedibeng College: Heidelberg Campus engaged in a spring cleaning exercise at Heidelberg Police Station as part of a LO community service assignment.
