Thando Tingana, Katleho Motloung and Mokuthula Makhonjwa will be representing Nigel Secondary School at the Economic and Management Science (EMS) Olympiad (district level) in Pretoria on August 26 after they obtained first position out of 13 schools during a competition that was held on 20 July at Hugenote Hoërskool in Springs.
Nigel Secondary School’s Owethu Moloi will be going to Cape Town to represent Gauteng during a national spelling bee competition. Moloi is one of five learners from schools in Gauteng that will be representing the province at the competition on October 5. She participated in the provincial spelling bee competition that took place at the University of Pretoria on July 20.
