Heidelberg residents can brace themselves for another influx of tourists on June 8 when Susan the steam train returns to Heidelberg for her seconds stop. With the Heidelberg Wanderer route now open on Reefsteamers website, encouraging people to take the scenic route toward the foothills of Suikerbosrand, the second stop for Susan will likely be bigger than the first.
The steam train departs from Germiston and picking up people at Park Station in Johannesburg before proceeding to Heidelberg where passengers will see the spectacularly restored original old Heidelberg railway station. Enjoy amazing food at The Culinary Express that is housed in vintage train coaches from days gone by. Quench your thirst at the incredible Heidelberg Brewhouse with lots of local craftbeer to choose from. Rest and relaxation is the order of the day for these passengers and visitors.
