Sakhile Primary School’s choirs shine at Eisteddfods

For the choristers of Sakhile Primary School in Ratanda the ABC Motshepe Schools Eisteddfod was no small feat. Four choirs participated in the Eisteddfod on April 14 at Heidelberg Town Hall, and then progressed to the second round that was held in Palm Springs on April 23.

For the choristers of Sakhile Primary School in Ratanda the ABC Motshepe Schools Eisteddfod was no small feat. Four choirs participated in the Eisteddfod on April 14 at Heidelberg Town Hall, and then progressed to the second round that was held in Palm Springs on April 23. After the second round, the senior choir progressed to the last leg of the Eisteddfod in Mogale City on May 14.

 
Sakhile Primary School’s Infant Choir (Grade R to Grade 2) received a first place for their Western piece. The junior choir (Grade 3 to Grade 4) received third place for their African piece, whereas the Boys choir (Grade 3 to Grade 4) received a first place in the same category. The senior choir (Grade 5 to Grade 7) received a second place for their rendition of an African song in the first round held at Heidelberg Town Hall.

 

The second round, which was held in Palm Springs, again proved a good round for the choirs. The Boys choir received a second place with their African piece. The Senior Choir received a first place for their African piece, progressing them to the third round in Mogale City where they received an overall third place.
