The following athletes from Nigel Secondary School participated in an athletics meeting at John Vorster Stadium on January 22, where they excelled in various items against participating schools such as Hoërskool John Vorster, Nigel High School and Alrapark Secondary School: Ntokozo Nkosi (third place 800m boys u/15), Mpumelelo Dlamini (first place 100m, second place 200m and first place long jump boys u/15), Andrea Smith (second place 100m and 200m girls u/15), Mfundo Madonsela (third place shotput boys u/17), Orelia Swarts (third place 200m girls u/17), Luthen Zal (first place long jump and second place tripple jump boys u/17), Thabo Mothlaping (second place 3 000m boys u/17), Lehlohonolo Motlala (second place shotput boys u/17), Thabo Lunga (first place 200m boys u/19) and Harvey Mothlaping (third place discus boys u/19).
