Three arrested following a break-in at Springs Customer Care Centre

On the night of Sunday, 09 December the Springs Customer Care Centre offices were broken into and two flat screen television sets and a projector were stolen. The stolen items were recovered on Monday, 10 December around midday with three suspects handcuffed. The arrests and the recoveries were made by the EMPD Traffic Wardens and an EMPD security officer.

While out on patrol on Monday, 10 December the EMPD officers were tipped off about the perpetrators involved in the burglary and as to where the stolen property had ended. Two suspects – one of which is an intern in the CoE Parks Department – and a Nigerian national to which the goods were sold were apprehended in the Springs Central Business District.

The arrested trio aged 24, 27 and 34 were detained at Springs police station charged with house-breaking and possession of stolen property. They were expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
